Hagerty Touring Series - Victoria

Camosun College Interurban - P5

About this event

What better way to spend a summer morning, than driving fantastic cars with other enthusiasts? We are excited to open registrations for our half-day drive, starting in Victoria BC and ending Parksville BC. Despite what your GPS might tell you, the best way between those two spots is not a direct drive on the Island Highway! Vancouver island is full of fantastic driving roads, beautiful scenery, stunning lakes, and historic towns...all linked together by the Island Highway.

Our day begins in parking lot five at Camosun College (Interurban campus) where we'll gather for registration, coffee and a morning snack. Your registration package includes a fully detailed route book, with history, stories and points of interest along the way. We'll gather together for a quick participants meeting, before departing along the route. Our drive will explore some great island driving roads, as we wind our way to our finish at Cafe 356 in Parksville. This Porsche themed cafe features Porsche and european-themed memorabilia, display cars, and a wonderful cafe experience. Since opening, it's quickly becoming a mid-island hotspot for the automotive enthusiast. Overall, we'll travel approximately 210km, over a four hour period. Cafe 356 will prepare a light lunch for us, so you're well fueled for your drive home.

Entries are limited to just 50 cars. Entry closes on July 25th, 2024. A co-driver, or navigator, while not required, is highly recommended.

Event requirements

Our route is suitable for almost any vehicle. Collector cars and classic cars are encouraged.

Vehicles should be able to travel at 100km/h (for the Island highway segments), and be able to travel at an average of 50-60km/h. This might not be the best tour for your steam-powered brass-era car!

Road surfaces area all paved, but as we are on secondary routes the occasional pothole or dip may be highlighted in your route book. Your route master has completed all roads in a (very) lowered vehicle with low-profile tires, but advises that modern supercars with low-hanging carbon-fibre bits may not be a suitable choice. Your Lamborghini Countach? Absolutely. An Aston Martin Valkyrie? Perhaps better to leave that one, and it's carbon splitter, at home.
